This parody came from a commercial Microsoft made predicting the future of mobile media. I found the parody more appropriate than the original because the narration in this version is not only humorous but also insightful and a bit frightening. In the future we may see a come back in the newspaper industry, with the development of the scrollable newspaper that can crash or develop viruses. Soon we will have mobile internet access from just about wherever you could imagine so parents can check up on their children's online activity even when their flying thousands of feet in the air.

I found this to be my favorite line from the video: "In the future we will get everything we need from something we hold in the palm of our hand. Kind of like an iphone but with an extra piece that you can lose sometimes." :)

This video is applicable to how we perceive mobile media because it allows people to analyze the path that mobile technologies have changed and will continue to change. It exemplifies the manner in which consumers are utilizing mobile devices to carry out their everyday lives and how they may continue to use them. Furthermore, mobile technology is discussed in this video as the device that will turn the world truly into a “global information hub.” As well as that as a society we are in power to ensure it is utilized correctly.

The link above will take you to an article about Ruckus Media group launching high definition animated children's story applications for mobile media platforms like the iPhone, iPad and many more. They will combine touch screen technology with intellectual property from celebrities, children's authors and children's illustrators. They say that they their goal is to "extend a child's imagination through interactivity and to lead more and more kids to play and to read, regardless of the medium..." They are planning to have 26 applications by the end of the year and 75 under contract. If they succeed, they will become the largest resource for children's mobile media. I personally believe that this is interesting because they are taking children's book to a new level. Since everything else is becoming digital these days, why not children's books.
